catalysts

Catalysts are used to convert harmful waste gas into less harmful gases. The exhaust stream is led through a honeycomp body which is coated in platinum, palladium or rhodium. These catalytic precious metals initiate a process in which, for instance, carbon monoxide is converted into carbon dioxide.

The precious metals in the catalysts are not worn, but can be recycled.

Our crucibles out of zirconia and crucible back-up are used to melt the precious metals to recycle and reuse them in the industry.
